Niños de Argentina was created to help both orphans and street children in Posadas, Argentina. Our goal is to raise awareness about the conditions of children living in poverty in Argentina and to help improve conditions by assisting these underprivileged children. Niños de Argentina primarily provides aid to local orphanages in Posadas, Argentina. We also evaluate local schools, poor neighborhoods, and other NGOs that serve children to then determine where funding is most needed.
Niños de Argentina is a US tax exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. I established this organization after visiting Posadas in 2006 and spending time as a volunteer at a local orphanage called Hogar El Refugio. There were forty-eight children at El Refugio and most were under the age of fifteen. The boys and girls slept two to three per bed and lacked necessities such as a refrigerator, toothbrushes, and linens. It was difficult to see children without toys or basic school supplies, so at the end of my volunteer assignment I decided to do something about it.
After establishing Niños de Argentina, I moved back to Posadas in August of 2006 to continue my efforts and distribute the funds used to assist children on the streets and in local orphanages. My primary focus is an orphanage called Arco Iris de Sueños, which means “Rainbow of Dreams” in Spanish. I also work with street children organizing games, sports, and other activities with the primary goal of creating a social network for many abused children. I am also working to improve conditions for children who live in devastatingly poor neighborhoods in Posadas.
This organization has already affected over 200 children. We would like to continue to provide them as well as others with the opportunity to further improve their lives. Please help me give these children the future that they deserve.
